My second shortcut, the Personal Digital Librarian, is now available! I am incredibly proud of how this one turned out. Don't be fooled by it being a shortcut- it's quite powerful. • Personalized to you: details about your reading, like what books and authors you like, favorite genres, and more, are stored in a collection and shared to your own personal Librarian, who can make recommendations, update your collection, or chat about your library. • Persistent Memory: normally, Shortcuts don't remember anything- you'd hardcode in your API details, or very explicitly tell it what to do. But this shortcut creates a configuration file that contains all the information it needs to remember you, access your space, and give you the power of two shortcuts in one- an initialization stage, where you add your API details and talk about what you like to read, and the main part of the shortcut you'll interact with the most. • OCR support: besides getting recommendations or tracking what you've read when, you can quickly add a book to your collection via image- either one you've read or one you'd like to. Accessible via the share sheet as well, books you see on social media can quickly be added to your own library, so you're never left wondering what that book you forgot about was called. I really hope some of you are able to take advantage of this shortcut! I wanted to create something more powerful than a basic tracker, more accessible than paid apps with fewer features, and more personalized than would typically be possible.
